Our Founders

Roger Clark

With a passion for design and architecture, Roger has built a career focused on understanding both the aesthetics and functionality of spaces. Extensive travel in his early twenties exposed him to a wide range of architectural styles and design philosophies, deepening his appreciation for craftsmanship and proportion.

After gaining experience in the London estate agency sector, Roger developed a thorough knowledge of the property market and what makes a home desirable. This foundation, combined with hands-on experience developing his own period properties in London and the Cotswolds, gave him a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and finishes, while also refining his project management skills.

Today, Roger leads the Barnrose team, delivering a professional service that blends design insight, building expertise, and project leadership. He is also the founder of House of Berkeley (formerly The Cotswold Kitchen Company), specialising in remodelling and creating high-end, classic-style kitchens.

Scott Davis

With a passion for heritage conservation, Scott has built a career restoring period properties, a foundation laid during a plastering apprenticeship in his twenties. He began his career working on landmark projects in London, including Butler’s Wharf and The National Gallery in Trafalgar Square, gaining a thorough understanding of traditional techniques used to preserve historic buildings.

Scott then spent over a decade in Berlin, further honing his skills and mastering a wide range of plastering applications. Over the years, he expanded his expertise beyond plastering to include general building skills, focusing specifically on the restoration of period properties and managing trades across projects in both the Cotswolds and London.

Today, Scott leads the building team at Barnrose, overseeing a full range of trades from labourers and carpenters to electricians. His extensive experience allows him to remain hands-on while efficiently managing the team and ensuring the highest standards of craftsmanship.

Testimonials

  • " From start to finish, the whole team were professional, respectful, and clearly knew their stuff. The quality of their work and the finish was outstanding. What really stood out was their attitude; nothing was ever too much trouble, and they focused on finding solutions rather than creating problems. It was also clear they were true professionals, as the site was always clean and well organised. Having worked with many builders over the years, we can honestly say Barnrose were the best. Thank you, Roger, Scott, and the team. "
