Project Description

The front façade was carefully restored, replicating the original architectural features, including the installation of new timber casement windows and a traditional front door, all painted in a heritage conservation colour.

At the rear of the property, the original small galley kitchen was completely reimagined. A new extension was constructed to create a spacious kitchen and dining area, featuring vaulted ceilings that enhance the sense of light and space. Additional timber casement windows were installed to maintain architectural continuity. Lime pointing was applied throughout, and essential repairs were carried out to preserve the building’s historic integrity.

The rear garden was designed to complement the new extension, featuring a paved seating area flanked by traditional dry stone walls. Planted borders surround the space, and a further area of lawn added softness, creating a relaxed, Mediterranean-inspired feel.

Internally, the property was reconfigured to accommodate three spacious double bedrooms and two bathrooms. The character of the cottage was enhanced by exposing original timber beams, while a traditional log burner was added to bring warmth and authenticity. The bathrooms and bespoke cabinetry were designed in a classic style, while the kitchen introduced a more contemporary feel. The entire property was decorated in a soft pastel palette, creating a calm and harmonious interior.

The transformation significantly improved the functionality and flow of the home, offering modern comfort while remaining true to the cottage’s traditional character
