Project Description

A comprehensive restoration programme was undertaken on the principal façade, including remedial works to the roof and stonework, replacement of cast iron guttering, and lime repointing throughout. The timber windows were carefully refurbished and finished in an approved conservation colour.

The small front courtyard was thoughtfully landscaped to create a seating area, complemented by planted flower beds.

Internally, the cottage was meticulously restored. Original beams were exposed and sensitively refurbished, while an electric log burner with a decorative surround was installed to provide warmth and character. A Shaker-style kitchen was fitted atop limestone flooring, with handmade cabinetry throughout the rooms offering practical storage. Oak doors and fleur de lis radiator cabinets were introduced to enhance the period character, alongside contemporary bathroom suites to provide modern comfort. A light, neutral colour palette was applied throughout to highlight and complement the home’s original features
